Désirée Dick

B. Sc. Biology

I am currently working on my second research project and my master’s thesis. I am investigating the chemotaxis of Pheobacter inhibens, a member of the marine Roseobacter clade, both qualitatively using the swimming plate assay and quantitatively using the capillary assay. Before starting my studies, I worked for several years as a pharmaceutical TA in a public pharmacy, where I discovered my passion for laboratory work. During my bachelor’s program, I developed a fascination with the world of microorganisms and wrote my bachelor’s thesis on general and molecular microbiology. I have been part of this research group since the spring of 2026 to broaden my research focus. Since the beginning of my studies, I have spent my free time volunteering for the university cinema “Unikino GEGENLICHT”.
