My love for nature started with a childhood fascination for all the beautiful and unique creatures living on our planet. I was always wondering about the unseen forces that govern the delicate balance of our ecosystems. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Environmental Management. During my studies I was quickly mesmerized by the unimaginable diversity that our oceans hold. I started my journey as a scientific diver and marine scientist in Oldenburg and discovered a particular interest in marine microbiology. The often overlooked microscopic world of bacteria plays a crucial role for the health or our oceans. I am captivated by the potential of these microorganisms to mitigate pollution, break down harmful substances and even support the regeneration of marine habitats. By exploring their natural capabilities, hopefully we can develop innovative solutions to preserve and restore marine ecosystems in the future. This vision motivates me to further investigate the microbial world and contribute to this scientific field.
