Sujatha Srinivas

I am a Doctoral researcher from India currently studying bacterial-diatom interactions in the marine environment and the ecological significance of secondary metabolites in these interactions. I work with a model system (diatom Thalassiosira rotula and the roseobacter Phaeobacter inhibens) to discern interaction patterns but I am also keen on understanding if what we observe in the lab is also what truly happens in nature. I’m addicted to reading, travelling and exploring the outdoors. As a member of WWF and other NGOs, I like to volunteer for social causes and two causes very close to my heart are reptile conservation and children’s right to education.
